ASK LEE...About Who Made God
Question: What do you tell a child that says, “If God created everything, then who created God?”

Norman Geisler
Answer: I’d say, “Great question! I’m so glad you’re thinking about important things like God!” Then I’d chase down an expert - like Norman Geisler - to get a good answer! [read more]

...About Attacks On Rick Warren
Question: I see that you have a link to some Rick Warren material. I would also like to suggest that you read a book called Deceived on Purpose and listen to a CD concerning the truth about the seeker-sensitive church movement.
 Rick Warren
Answer: Don’t look for me to jump on any anti-Warren or anti-seeker church bandwagons. Rick Warren is my friend. And I came to faith through Willow Creek Community Church, the granddaddy of seeker churches. Neither is perfect, but neither deserves the criticisms that some people have leveled at them. ..About Jesus Outside The Bible
Question: Are there other sources that are not biblical but which still talk about Jesus and which are dated within the first or early second century?
Answer: Hmmmm, let me clarify something before I answer. Some people automatically disregard what the New Testament says about Jesus because…well, it’s in the Bible and therefore they believe it’s inherently biased and suspect. They only want to give credence to writings outside the New Testament. I don’t buy that reasoning. [read more] |
..About Spiritual Formation
Question: You mentioned in an earlier newsletter that your son, Kyle, is pursuing his third master’s degree, this one in spiritual formation. Exactly what is “spiritual formation”?
Answer: I went to the source himself and asked him to define it. Here’s what Kyle said: [read more] |

...About The Trinity
Question: I would like to know just really who is God? Jesus himself says he is God, and yet he calls the God in heaven his “Father.” Are there two Gods in the end? Is the Holy Spirit meant to be worshipped like Jesus and the Father, since they are all equally important and are of the same “substance”?
Answer: Whew, you’re asking about one of the most intriguing and mysterious aspects of God – his “triune” nature. There’s no question about it – the Trinity is not an easy concept to grasp. Perhaps it’s no mistake that while the Bible freely uses various metaphors to illuminate its theology, nowhere does it offer an illustration to describe the Trinity. Indeed, it’s a concept so sophisticated that it defies simple analogies. Still, let’s see if we can explore some basics. [read more] |
...About The Rationality Of Faith
Question: My name is Cailey. It seems like ever since I came out of the womb, I’ve been taught about Christ. Don’t get me wrong – I’m glad I was. But it hasn’t always seemed rational to me. In my case, if the story isn’t rational, then I have a hard time believing it.
Answer: Amen, Cailey! I agree with you. When I was an atheist, I didn’t think Christianity made sense... [read more] |
...About The Age Of The Earth
Question: I found it interesting that in The Case for a Creator you did not attempt to cover the current evidence pointing to a relatively young age (6,000 to 10,000 years) for the earth as opposed to millions of years.
Answer: As you know, Bible-believing Christians have different opinions about the age of the earth...[read more] |
Getting Personal...
I’ve had more than one person tell me that the highlight of reading their “Investigating Faith” newsletter has been the photos of my granddaughter, Abby. So, hey, how could I skip a month? Here’s a photo of Abby with her parents, Dan and Alison, at Abby’s first Angels ballgame. Dan is a life-long Angels fan, Alison is a Cubs-turned-Angels fan, and they’re bringing up Abby in the tradition – making her, of course, our littlest Angel.
- I was really pleased to get this email from Mike of Babson Park, Florida, who read our last newsletter and looked at LeeStrobel.com’s material on helping kids investigate God...[read more]
