Question: I would like to know just really who is God? Jesus himself says he is God, and yet he calls the God in heaven his “Father.” Are there two Gods in the end? Is the Holy Spirit meant to be worshipped like Jesus and the Father, since they are all equally important and are of the same “substance”?
Answer: Whew, you’re asking about one of the most intriguing and mysterious aspects of God – his “triune” nature. There’s no question about it – the Trinity is not an easy concept to grasp. Perhaps it’s no mistake that while the Bible freely uses various metaphors to illuminate its theology, nowhere does it offer an illustration to describe the Trinity.
