Chad Meister

I’ve known Chad Meister since his days as a volunteer who headed the Defenders apologetics ministry at Willow Creek Community Church. He later earned his doctorate at Marquette University and is currently a professor of philosophy at Bethel College in Indiana. His new book, Building Belief, is a concise and compelling summary of the evidence for Christianity. It follows his unique “pyramid” approach to setting forth the case for the faith. Seminars

If you’re a Christian communicator, how can you present a persuasive talk about Jesus? That’s the topic of my session at October 24 Preaching and Teaching Conference at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill. My session is called “The Case for Building a Case,” and I’ll be discussing the specific steps we can take to deliver messages that will move people to action. Other presenters include Ken “A Party A Minute” Davis, Bob Stromberg and Richard Allen Farmer. For information, contact the Willow Creek Association.

Craig

Ehrman

Last March, William Lane Craig, Research Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California, and Bart Ehrman, an agnostic who’s chair of the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, debated the resurrection of Jesus from the perspective of historical data. I think Craig triumphed over Ehrman, who seems to be on a campaign to discredit the Bible. I understand that Ehrman won’t let the transcript of the debate be published (wonder why!), but you can read the transcript for yourself by clicking here.
