Poll Results: Warren is Most Influential Pastor

According to respondents in our last newsletter poll, Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Valley Community Church in Orange County, California, is America’s most influential pastor. More than half of those who participated in the survey—51.4 percent—named the author of The Purpose-Driven Life and The Purpose-Driven Church as the church leader with the most influence.
John MacArthur placed second with 8.1 percent, followed by Bill Hybels, founding pastor of Willow Creek Community Church in suburban Chicago, and Houston pastor Joel Osteen, each with 6.9 percent. Of the other names I mentioned, Andy Stanley received 1.9 percent; Rob Bell, 0.9 percent; T.D. Jakes, 0.6 percent; and Brian McLaren, 0.3 percent. However, a whopping 23 percent marked the "other" option.
